An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a specialist school in Aylesbury that supports young people aged 11-19 with complex learning difficulties, including severe learning difficulties (SLD) and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). About the Role
  • Plan and deliver engaging, highly differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs and abilities.
  • Teach and support students aged 11-19 with complex learning difficulties, including SLD and PMLD.
  • Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning, wellbeing, and independence.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, families, and external agencies to provide holistic support.
  • Develop and implement personalised learning programmes aligned with EHCP outcomes.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching approaches to maximise engagement and achievement.
  • Support the development of communication, social, emotional, sensory, and life skills alongside academic learning.
  • Contribute to annual reviews, transition planning, and wider school initiatives.
About You
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Have experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, particularly those with complex learning difficulties.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of teaching strategies for students with SLD, PMLD, and associated communication and sensory needs.
  • Be creative, patient, resilient, and adaptable in their approach to teaching and learning.
  • Have strong communication and collaborative working skills.
  • Be committed to inclusion, safeguarding, and achieving the best possible outcomes for every student.
