Science Teacher / Science Lead - The Role
This school is looking for a passionate Science Teacher or experienced Science Lead to join their team and deliver engaging, accessible Science lessons to pupils with a range of special educational needs. You will be responsible for planning and delivering differentiated Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, adapting practical and theoretical content to meet the needs of learners with autism, moderate learning difficulties, and communication needs.
If appointed as Science Lead, you will also take responsibility for curriculum development within Science, supporting other staff in planning, assessment, and delivery, and ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across the subject area. The role involves working closely with teaching assistants and therapists to ensure pupils can access Science through practical, sensory, and real-world learning experiences, while supporting progress against EHCP targets.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher with strong subject knowledge in Science, excellent behaviour management skills, and a commitment to inclusive education. Leadership experience is desirable but not essential for the Science Lead aspect. This is a permanent position starting ASAP.
