Key Stage 3 Teacher
TLTP are recruiting for a Special Needs Key Stage 3 Teacher who has extensive experience in teaching a range of subjects to KS3 and low-level learners. This school is based in North West London and caters for children with SEBD, ASD, and SEMH.

The teacher will be responsible for:
- the progress of all pupils in their specialism and KS3 subjects
- coordinating the work of a team of Therapeutic Education Practitioners (Learning Mentors)
- providing required direct teaching time to meet the needs of the class groups and pupils
Teachers are expected to look at pupils holistically and draw on a wide range of social care and teaching strategies to meet pupil needs while promoting interest and ensuring the safety and well-being of pupils.
Responsibilities include:
- delivering pupil-focused and creative lessons according to an agreed timetable, including cover lessons when necessary
- supporting class teachers with the delivery of subjects up to GCSE level
- providing opportunities for pupils to experience/understand English subjects in a range of contexts
- differentiating the National Curriculum to meet the needs of ASC/SEMH pupils
- devising Individual Education Behaviour and Integration Plans (IEBIP) to reflect their development needs with appropriate SMART targets and actions
- helping to identify pupils in need of specific intervention and support, in consultation with the SLT, PCC, Clinical team, and Therapeutic Education Practitioners
- supporting the provision and monitoring of one-to-one and small group programmes to address defined needs
Special Needs Teachers must be committed to the development of both themselves and the pupils in their class. They must have QTS or QTLS and be able to deliver outstanding teaching and learning alongside a multi-disciplinary classroom team.
Special Needs Teachers will need experience of taking the lead in their subject area and have clear ideas of how to achieve exceptional progress for students. They require the ability to ensure that pupils fulfil their potential and must be ambitious in their expectations of them.
Additionally, Special Needs Teachers should possess a calm demeanour to maintain a sense of humour under pressure and must understand and be committed to safeguarding children.
