We are seeking an exceptional Head of Science to lead our dynamic and high-performing Science department in Havering. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the future of science education in our school. As Head of Department, you will provide clear direction, drive curriculum excellence, and lead a team of passionate subject specialists to raise student achievement across all key stages. Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic leadership for the Science department, ensuring high standards in teaching, learning, and outcomes. Lead curriculum planning, development, and innovation across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Line-manage and support a team of science teachers and technicians. Monitor student progress and implement effective interventions where necessary. Foster a culture of high expectations, collaboration, and professional growth. We are looking for someone who: Has a strong track record of outstanding science teaching and middle or senior leadership experience. Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and curriculum insight across all science disciplines. Is an effective leader who can motivate and develop others. Has experience using data to drive student progress and departmental improvement. Is committed to delivering an ambitious, inclusive, and inspiring science curriculum.
