The successful Teaching Assistant will work closely with class teachers and other support staff to help deliver engaging lessons, provide individual and small-group support, and ensure pupils feel safe, confident and ready to learn.
About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning by assisting pupils with classroom activities, reinforcing key concepts and helping children overcome barriers to learning. You will play an important role in creating a positive classroom environment where pupils can develop academically, socially and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons in line with the primary curriculum.
Provide one-to-one and small-group support to help pupils access learning and make progress.
Assist pupils with literacy, numeracy, reading, writing and other classroom activities.
Adapt support to meet pupils' individual learning needs, abilities and learning styles.
Help create a safe, inclusive, structured and stimulating classroom environment.
Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence, resilience and positive learning habits.
Support pupils with SEND and additional learning needs where required.
