About the Role
As an SEN Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated and accessible lessons tailored to the individual needs, abilities and communication styles of students with ASD and additional needs.
Key Responsibilities
As an SEN Teacher, you will:
Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons for students aged 4β19.
Adapt lessons, resources and teaching approaches to meet individual needs and learning styles.
Support students with ASD to access learning and make meaningful progress.
Create a safe, structured, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Use autism-informed teaching strategies to promote engagement, communication and independence.
Develop personalised learning opportunities based on individual strengths, needs and interests.
Support students to develop communication, social, emotional and life skills.
Use visual supports, structured routines and practical learning approaches where appropriate.
Monitor, assess and record student progress, identifying appropriate next steps.
Build positive and trusting relationships with students and promote positive behaviour.
Support students with sensory needs and help them regulate and engage with learning.
