We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior or Managing Associate to join our market-leading Commercial Dispute Resolution team in Bristol, Birmingham or Manchester. This is a permanent, full-time role, offered on a hybrid-working basis. Our Commercial Dispute Resolution team is highly ranked in the Legal Directories, and this opportunity would see you working closely with a Legal 500 Leading Partner. We are committed to the development and growth of our Commercial Dispute Resolution team by the appointment of a Senior or Managing Associate with specialist pensions litigation expertise. This appointment will strengthen the existing Commercial Dispute Resolution team, which operates as a national service line.

We want you to be successful. You will manage your own portfolio of disputes (with Partner oversight as required) ensuring your experience is varied and broad.

Your Role

  • Advising a broad range of clients on a variety of commercial dispute resolution matters involving litigation, arbitration and mediation.
  • Providing specialist pensions litigation support, developing the firm’s expertise in this area.
  • Collaborating closely with the Partners and wider team nationwide, as well as our national Pensions team.
  • Taking an active role in business development initiatives, including preparing pitches and tenders, providing training and building client relationships.
  • Taking an active role with supervision, development and mentoring of junior team members.

Your Skills & Experience

  • A proven Commercial Dispute Resolution background with outstanding technical ability and a genuine interest in commercial dispute resolution, with a minimum of 3 years PQE.
  • Ideally, a specialism in Pensions litigation and disputes including professional negligence, rectification and complex member complaints.
  • A forward thinker, with excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills, you will be self-motivated with the ability to manage workloads and deadlines.
  • Commercially aware with enthusiasm for business development and an appetite for keeping up to date with the latest developments.
  • Client focussed approach with the ability to nurture long standing relationships, both with external clients and internally.
  • Able to develop a deep understanding of your client’s business needs, and act in the best interest of the firm and the client.
  • Able to contribute to our collaborative culture, with an ambition to assist in the development of junior team members (proven experience of supervising and/or managing junior team members is desirable).
  • The drive and ambition to succeed as a key senior component of the team at TLT, with the commitment to developing the firm’s offering locally and nationally.

We regularly act in significant, high value contractual disputes, negligence claims, pensions disputes, contractual interpretation, retention of title disputes, sale of goods and services disputes, and misrepresentation claims, as well as large debt claims and insolvency-related issues.
