Responsibilities
- Manage and progress a wide range of non-standard conveyancing matters, including leasehold variations, title rectifications, transfer of part, and technical matters referred from standard RMS teams.
- Deliver efficient, high-quality legal work that meets client expectations and ensures compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure all complex matters are handled in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal governance frameworks.
- Mitigate legal and operational risk through robust case management and oversight.
- Maximise fee recovery by applying time recording and appropriate hourly/enhanced rates across a diverse lender client base.
- Work to an annual chargeable target budget of 1,120 hours, aligning with performance benchmarks of comparable roles within FSDI.
- Work closely with RMS colleagues and the wider FSDI team to deliver coordinated outcomes.
- Upskill and support paralegals, contributing to a resilient, scalable service model and reducing key-person dependency.
Examples of matters likely to fall within this role include boundary disputes and enquiries, leasehold title issues and removal of expired entries, issues relating to planning/building regulations, short lease term advice, renewable energy lease/charge complications, local authority restrictions or right-of-pre-emption matters, shared ownership complexities.
Qualifications
- This role requires a highly experienced conveyancing specialist with a strong background in lender-facing work and the ability to independently handle complex technical matters.
- Significant experience (ideally 10+ years) in conveyancing for mortgage lenders, including complex non-standard matters.
- Strong technical capability in title review, variations, rectifications, and escalated case resolution.
- Ability to work autonomously within a specialist legal team.
- Proven ability to manage client expectations and deliver high-quality outputs at pace.
- Prior experience in a panel firm or lender-services environment.
- Understanding of both RMS processes and FSDI workflows.
- Supervisory or mentoring experience.
