This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to apply and develop their company secretarial expertise whilst being part of a dynamic, forward-thinking team at the heart of TLT's legal services delivery.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a thoughtful professional who brings both depth and perspective. You’re someone who can see the big picture while staying grounded in the details. You’ve built your expertise over time, and now you’re ready to collaborate in a way that lifts others up. You’re not just skilled - you’re curious, adaptable, and committed to making legal work more accessible and impactful. You know how to navigate complexity, communicate clearly, and build trust across teams and clients. If you’re passionate about using your insight to drive meaningful outcomes - and you care deeply about people along the way - we’d love to meet you.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Corporate Team Support (Primary Focus)
In your primary company secretarial capacity, you will be responsible for the following:
- Arranging for clients' companies to use any TLT office as their registered office.
- Filing confirmation statements and company accounts at Companies House.
- Preparing documentation for director appointments and resignations, and other minor administrative company changes.
- Maintaining and reconstituting statutory books and registers.
- Sending timely reminders to clients of upcoming Companies House filing dates and deadlines.
- Incorporating companies, LLPs and community interest companies electronically, including on a same-day basis.
- Assisting with minor company filings at Companies House, including changes of company name and registered office.
- Advising on corporate governance issues, with particular focus on company law and directors' duties.
- Administering company dissolutions.
- Being responsible for your own matters, to include some more complex matters, under supervision.
- Document Review and Collation Team (Training Provided – Exposure Subject to Business Needs)
You will receive structured training in the following DRC workstreams. Where the volume of company secretarial work permits, you may have the opportunity to assist with some of these areas; however, involvement cannot be guaranteed and will depend on capacity and business requirements at any given time:
- First-level reviews of Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), including redactions, with close attention to detail, accuracy and speed.
- Use of e-disclosure platforms such as Relativity to conduct document reviews and e-disclosure exercises.
- Support to fee earners with pre‑action disclosure, court bundle preparation and general document management.
What You Bring
- Demonstrable experience in a company secretarial role, whether gained in private practice, an in‑house environment or a company secretarial services provider.
- Sound working knowledge of Companies House filing requirements and procedures.
- Experience of incorporating companies, LLPs and/or community interest companies.
- Familiarity with maintaining and reconstituting statutory books and registers.
- A solid understanding of corporate governance principles, including directors' duties under the Companies Act 2006.
- Strong ability to build and maintain professional relationships with colleagues and clients across multiple teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high standard of drafting ability.
- Strong self‑management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritise competing demands and work to tight deadlines.
- High‑level analytical and logic skills to ensure the logical arrangement of materials and the optimum order of events in a complex process.
- Accuracy, attention to detail, good organisational skills and the flexibility to adapt across different areas of work.
- Good knowledge of Word and Outlook is required; experience in Excel, PowerPoint and Interwoven would be beneficial.
