TLT is recruiting an experienced Contract ERP Test Manager / Test Lead to support a major ERP transformation programme on a 10 month basis. The role will lead the end-to-end testing strategy and delivery across multiple workstreams, ensuring systems meet business requirements and quality standards across Financials, HR, Payroll, Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Reporting. This assignment will be engaged on a competitive daily rate via an Umbrella Company. The role will be predominantly hybrid, with 2/3 days per week office attendance required in Bristol in line with programme needs.

Role Overview

The ERP Test Manager / Test Lead is responsible for the end-to-end management of testing across the ERP programme, ensuring systems meet business requirements and defined quality standards. The role will define and implement the testing strategy, oversee delivery across key functional areas (Financials, HR, Payroll, Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Reporting) and manage both internal testing teams and third-party suppliers. They will ensure a consistent, effective testing regime is embedded across all projects, supporting successful programme delivery.

Role Responsibilities

  • Define, agree and implement the overall test strategy and test plans across the ERP programme and individual projects
  • Lead end-to-end test cycle management, including: test strategy, test planning, script and scenario creation, test execution, defect management, outcome reporting
  • Take ownership of: Functional testing, Performance testing
  • Oversee testing across ERP modules: Finance, HR, Payroll, Reporting
  • Manage and assure delivery of third-party testing suppliers, ensuring deliverables meet agreed standards and requirements
  • Develop a clear understanding of programme business requirements and establish a testing regime that ensures appropriate coverage and validation
  • Ensure testing approaches reflect project-specific needs while maximising consistency and reuse across the programme
  • Be fully embedded within project teams to ensure:
    • Testing is considered throughout delivery
    • Testing impacts are understood early
    • Projects achieve maximum benefit from testing activities
  • Contribute to and support the programme-wide testing regime, including baseline software testing
  • Lead and coordinate test teams, including:
    • Experienced test professionals
    • Business users with limited UAT experience
  • Establish clear Terms of Reference (ToRs) for testers in collaboration with project management
  • Present test findings, insights and outcomes into project boards and workstreams
  • Ensure projects understand and realise the value and benefits of the testing approach
  • Ensure testing objectives are realistic, achievable and appropriately resourced

Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a Test Manager / Test Lead on ERP implementations or large transformation programmes
  • Strong experience managing the full end-to-end test lifecycle
  • Experience delivering functional and performance testing
  • Demonstrated experience managing third-party suppliers and testing deliverables
  • Experience across ERP modules
  • Experience leading mixed capability teams, including business users involved in UAT
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience presenting to senior stakeholders
  • Ability to translate business requirements into comprehensive testing approaches and coverage
  • Experience with ERP platforms (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Workday or similar)
  • Familiarity with test management tools (e.g. JIRA, Azure DevOps, ALM)
  • Experience of data migration and integration testing
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. ISTQB, PRINCE2, Agile)
  • Experience within professional services or multi-project environments
