We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Executive to join our Marketing and Business Development team in London.
Your Role
As a Business Development Executive, you will support the firm’s business development and marketing activity, helping to win new work, strengthen client relationships and raise TLT’s profile in the market. It combines sales enablement, marketing communications and events delivery, working closely with colleagues across BD, Marketing, Bids and external partners to deliver high‑quality campaigns, materials and client-facing activity. This role will support our Public Inquiries, Inquests and Public Law (PIIPL) team. PIIPL comprises of over 150 specialists, from Paralegals to Partners and offers a full-service approach. We provide strategic legal advice, robust representation, and seamless project management.
We have acted on some of the most significant public inquiries of the last 25 years, including for central government departments, public bodies, regulators and private sector entities. Our cross-sector experience—spanning areas such as technology, healthcare, energy, financial services, and telecoms—enables us to tailor our advice with precision. We help clients anticipate risk, manage sensitive disclosures, and engage effectively with inquiry teams. Our collaborative and discreet approach is grounded in a clear understanding of the legal frameworks as well as the political and media environments pertinent to inquiries and inquests.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce high‑quality sales materials including credentials documents, proposals, pitch presentations and bid content, and support the central Bids team through effective use of precedent and pitch management systems.
- Support business development planning and sales activity, helping to target new clients, identify cross‑selling opportunities and progress BD and client plans.
- Deliver marketing and communications activity, including sector reports, digital marketing, website and social media content, directory and award submissions, and internal communications.
- Plan, coordinate and deliver events and campaigns (virtual, hybrid and in‑person), managing all aspects of event delivery from invitations and materials through to supplier liaison, reporting and follow‑up.
- Support thought leadership and PR activity, including producing digital content (videos, podcasts), working with external partners and managing budgets and supplier costs for marketing activity.
Your Skills and Experience
- Graduate or equivalent with BD/marketing experience in a professional services environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills - gains respect and credibility quickly.
- Enthusiastic, confident, pro-active and robust.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Able to work well under pressure and drive projects to completion.
- Good copywriting, editing and proof-reading skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Experience of using BD/marketing technologies (e.g. CRM systems, email marketing platforms, webinar services and website/intranet content management systems) would be advantageous.
- Ability to assimilate information quickly and a keen interest in developing your knowledge of TLT, the legal sector and the clients that we support.
