TLT LLP is seeking to engage Contract Lawyers (eDiscovery) working at NQ/ Associate level to support the delivery of large-scale, high-risk disclosure work. You will work under the direction of the matter lead and senior lawyers, playing a key role in supporting the efficient and consistent delivery of disclosure exercises in line with court and regulatory expectations. A key focus of the role will be undertaking and supporting quality control (QC) activities to ensure accuracy, consistency and defensibility across review workflows. The assignment is expected to last 3–6 months and will be engaged on a highly competitive daily rate, commensurate with experience, via Umbrella Company. The role will be hybrid, with occasional office attendance required in Bristol, depending on project needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the translation of disclosure obligations, relevance criteria and proportionality considerations into practical, clearly defined review approaches.
  • Assisting with the set-up and day-to-day running of review workflows, including first level review (1LR), second level review (2LR), quality control (QC) processes and escalation routes.
  • Undertaking 1LR and 2LR document review, applying knowledge of relevance, privilege and confidentiality, and escalating complex issues where required.
  • Carrying out quality control (QC) reviews of document sets to ensure consistency, accuracy and adherence to agreed protocols.
  • Assisting with the identification of trends, errors or inconsistencies within review outputs and flagging these to senior team members.
  • Supporting the running of searches and workflows within eDiscovery platforms (including Relativity), in collaboration with internal teams and external providers.
  • Monitoring review progress, volumes and quality metrics, highlighting risks or delays to senior team members.
  • Acting as a point of contact for review teams, helping to resolve queries and ensure consistency in approach.
  • Supporting engagement with eDiscovery suppliers and technology providers, including assisting with quality checks on outputs.
  • Assisting with changes in scope, including new search terms, custodians or issues, under supervision.
  • Supporting production readiness activities, including QC checks and validation of disclosure sets.
  • Producing clear, structured updates and reports on review progress and key issues.
  • Identifying potential hot documents or themes and escalating these to senior team members.
  • Maintaining accurate and auditable records of review decisions and workflow activity.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Qualified lawyer (UK or equivalent jurisdiction), typically 0–3 years’ PQE.
  • Previous experience in an eDiscovery, litigation or document review environment.
  • Demonstrable experience undertaking quality control (QC) review on document review or disclosure projects.
  • Good understanding of disclosure processes and document review workflows, including relevance and privilege concepts.
  • Hands-on experience using eDiscovery platforms, particularly Relativity (or similar).
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • High attention to detail and a methodical, quality-focused approach.
  • Confidence working within structured processes and escalating issues appropriately.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible approach to working hours where required to meet project deadlines.
