We are newly recruiting for an Associate or Senior Associate to join our Real Estate Finance team in Glasgow or Edinburgh. This role is offered on a full-time, flexible working basis and would best suit a qualified lawyer with 3+ years' PQE. TLT is recognised as having one of the foremost real estate groups in the country. The group includes several nationally rated individuals. Our property expertise encompasses investment, portfolio management, finance, planning, construction, environmental, development and dispute resolution.
The Real Estate Finance team sits within our Investment and Asset Management team, within our wider Real Estate Group. Our sector focus enables us to concentrate our effort and resources on learning as much as we can about our clients' businesses and approach; working with clients from a firm-wide perspective, not merely by work type or team. With TLT's offices in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, we are able to provide expertise across all the jurisdictions within the UK.
Your Role
- Dealing with all aspects of real estate finance transactions, acting for multiple lender clients
- Handling all aspects of real estate due diligence, drafting, negotiation, managing matters to completion
- Dealing with post-completion formalities, including registration in the Land Register of Scotland and at Companies House
- Nurturing both existing and new client relationships, running own files with early responsibility for delivery of transactions
- Providing all our clients with a quality service in accordance with the Firm’s procedures
- Opportunities for business development and enhancement of the current services we offer
- Support and supervision of junior team members, assisting in their development
Your Skills & Experience
- A Scottish qualified lawyer with 3+ years' PQE, with previous real estate finance experience
- A forward thinker, with excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills, you will be self-motivated with the ability to manage workloads and deadlines
- Commercial awareness with enthusiasm for business development and an appetite for keeping up to date with the latest developments in your practice area and sector focus
- An ability to understand your client’s business needs, acting in the best interest of the firm and the client
- An ambitious and enthusiastic team player, able to support senior fee earners and contribute to our collaborative culture
