The role focuses primarily on client terms, with occasional involvement in supplier contracts and wider compliance queries.

The team is commercially minded and includes experienced lawyers and technical specialists who apply practical, proportionate thinking to a wide range of regulatory and ethical requirements.
Your role

- Review supplier contracts and terms of service in collaboration with Procurement, liaising with relevant internal stakeholders to ensure proposed arrangements are suitable.
- Advise partners and internal stakeholders on contractual and compliance queries, providing clear, commercial and risk‑based guidance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a trusted point of contact on client contract matters.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of precedent documents, guidance materials, contract playbooks and the firmwide database of client terms.
- Identify legal, regulatory and commercial risks within client agreements, advise on deviations from standard terms and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained.
- Keep up to date with regulatory developments and market practice, feeding insights into team guidance and materials.
Skills and experience
- Relevant experience in contract review, ideally gained within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Experience reviewing and negotiating client engagement terms and/or supplier contracts, with familiarity with standard law firm‑client terms; experience using contract playbooks is desirable.
- Strong commercial judgement and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to provide practical, business‑focused advice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels across the firm.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, prioritise effectively and work at pace.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (including Teams and Share Point) and an interest in generative AI tools and their use in contract management.
- A proactive, flexible and collaborative approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
