This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Corporate Associate or Senior Associate to join our growing Corporate team in Birmingham, working with major clients across a range of high‑profile transactions including M&A, private equity and venture capital, management buy‑outs/ins, and Equity Capital Markets.

Your Role

  • Work as part of a close‑knit team, in which there are no rigid sub‑teams with all team members working with each other on a full range of M&A transactions, including corporate acquisitions and disposals, management buy‑outs/ins, private equity and venture capital investments and Equity Capital Markets transactions.
  • Advise a range of clients from large listed and unlisted companies, PE/VC backed companies, mid‑market PE investors, venture capital firms, ambitious management teams and founder shareholders.
  • Support the Partners and senior team on our business development strategy, including profile‑raising events and communications.
  • Support with the development of Paralegals and Trainees.

Your Skills and Experience

  • A qualified Solicitor (SRA or Law Society Registered), with ideally 2‑6 PQE, gained within a highly regarded Corporate team. We would also welcome applications from candidates outside this PQE range who are operating at Associate or Senior Associate level.
  • Experience working on complex mid‑market M&A, VC and PE transactions and/or ECM transactions is beneficial.
  • A forward thinker, with excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills, you will be self‑motivated with the ability to manage workloads and deadlines.
  • An enthusiasm for business development essential as part of a rapidly expanding team.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of your client’s business needs.
  • An appetite for keeping up‑to‑date with the latest developments in your practice area and sector focus.
  • Ambitious and enthusiastic team player, able to support partners and senior fee earners and contribute to our collaborative culture.
