We are recruiting for a Managing Associate or Legal Director to join our Real Estate Future Energy team, to be based in Belfast. We are also very open to hearing from individuals based outside of Belfast, who are looking for a hybrid and/or remote working arrangement.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Real Estate Lawyer to join our Legal 500 tier 1 ranked team and develop a specialism within one of the most exciting and topical sectors in the legal profession and beyond.
Your Role- Dealing with drafting option agreements and leases on a wide range of clean energy projects (including wind, solar, battery storage, electric vehicles, and hydro).
- Undertaking due diligence on these projects to include a review of title, enquiries, and searches.
- Acting in relation to the financing of clean energy projects and large-scale acquisitions/disposals which will involve working with individuals in our corporate, banking, construction, planning and regulatory disciplines.
- Providing support in relation to other aspects of work undertaken in the team including landlord and tenant work, corporate support, and public sector work.
- To supervise and mentor junior team members.
- To provide all our clients with a quality service in accordance with the Firm’s procedures.
- To maintain and improve relations with existing clients and spot opportunities for business development and enhancement of the current services we offer.
- To achieve the budget and targets set by the Firm.
- A Qualified Solicitor (SRA or Law Society registered), with at least 6 years of post-qualification experience within Real Estate.
- You will have proven experience of working with clients in the future energy sector.
- Dual qualification in Northern Ireland and England & Wales is desirable, but not essential.
- A proven track record in business development and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Experience of supervising and/or managing Associates and/or Paralegals.
- Able to demonstrate first class communication skills with the ability and confidence to engage with clients and colleagues at all levels.
- Able to confidently provide strategic advice to a variety of TLT clients.
- Be an active, senior member of the team at TLT, with the commitment to developing the firm’s offering locally and nationally.
