Job Description
The Leasing Consultant plays an important role in shaping the first impression of the community and helping future residents find a home that fits their needs. They are highly people-focused, combining sales, service, and relationship-building to create a welcoming, informative, and engaging leasing experience. The Leasing Consultant is an integral part of the on-site team who helps bring the community to life by showcasing suites, amenities, and services in a way that is thoughtful and tailored to each prospective resident. They are polished, proactive, and comfortable balancing a warm customer experience with leasing goals, follow-through, and attention to detail.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leasing & Customer Experience
- Respond to inquiries in a professional and timely manner, building rapport and understanding each prospective resident’s needs, preferences, and leasing requirements.
- Schedule and conduct property, amenity, and suite tours, presenting features, pricing, availability, and community services in a clear and engaging way.
- Follow up with prospective residents and guide them through the application and leasing process to support conversion.
- Build and maintain relationships with current residents, respond to resident inquiries, and partner with the site team on renewal and retention initiatives.
- Support lease discussions, promote resident referral programs, and maintain current knowledge of suite availability, layouts, pricing, amenities, and community features.
Community Presentation & Market Insight
- Monitor the leasing path, common areas, model suites, and available suites to ensure they are clean, presentable, and aligned with property standards.
- Inspect upcoming suite availabilities prior to showings and communicate any deficiencies, maintenance concerns, or property issues requiring attention.
- Review advertisements for photography, content quality, and pricing accuracy.
- Conduct market surveys and stay informed on market conditions, competitor activity, pricing, and the broader competitive landscape.
- Monitor leasing activity and reporting to understand traffic, conversion, performance trends, and opportunities for improvement.
Leasing Administration & Reporting
- Enter accurate and complete prospect and applicant information into the leasing system.
- Support move-in and move-out coordination, including elevator reservations, suite inspections, related documentation, and orientation where possible.
- Assist with marketing and leasing reports, including market rents, competitive activity, planned developments, and resident activity.
- Recommend ideas to improve leasing processes, customer experience, and overall performance.
- Complete other duties related to leasing, administration, and resident support as assigned.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Service-oriented approach with a polished, professional presence.
- High attention to detail and ability to follow through on multiple priorities.
- Proactive, self‑motivated, and comfortable taking initiative.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, customer-facing environment.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people while demonstrating cultural awareness and professionalism.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience in residential leasing, property management, hospitality, or a related customer-facing environment.
- Experience with Yardi or another property management/leasing system.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Interest in real estate, resident experience, and community building.
- Ability to understand market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of sales, leasing, hospitality, or customer service experience.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as required.
Work Schedule
Employees are expected to work onsite.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to sit, talk, and hear.
- Frequently required to stand and move; use hands to grasp, squeeze, finger, handle, and feel; reach, push, and pull with hands and arms; occasionally required to twist; reach overhead; stoop, kneel, squat, bend, and crouch.
- Occasionally lift, carry, and move up to 10 pounds.
- Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
Salary Range
$43,890.00 – $65,830.00
Benefits & Incentives
This position is eligible for an attractive benefits and wellness package and an incentive opportunity of 50%.
