The Role
We are looking for a Health & Safety & Continuous Improvement Supervisor to join an established industrial manufacturing business in Shropshire. This is a hands-on position within a busy, heavy industrial production environment, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable working alongside production teams and dealing with the realities of a demanding manufacturing setting. The successful candidate will take responsibility for supporting and improving Health & Safety standards across the site, whilst also identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, quality and overall operational performance. This role would suit someone from a heavy industrial, engineering, manufacturing, steel, metal processing, fabrication, galvanizing, plating, foundry or similar environment who enjoys being close to the shop floor and making a tangible difference.
Key Responsibilities
- Taking a proactive role in maintaining and improving Health & Safety standards across the site.
- Carrying out regular workplace inspections, audits and compliance checks.
- Supporting and reviewing risk assessments, COSHH assessments and safe systems of work.
- Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Supporting compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
- Assist with COSHH Assessments.
- Supporting the maintenance and improvement of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Working closely with production and operational teams to identify opportunities for improvement.

- Using problem-solving techniques.
- Monitoring and reporting Health & Safety, quality and operational KPIs.
- Supporting environmental compliance and site improvement initiatives.
- Providing guidance and support to employees on Health & Safety procedures and best practice.
- Challenging unsafe practices and ensuring agreed corrective actions are followed through.
- Maintaining accurate records, reports and compliance documentation.
- Working with management and shop-floor teams to ensure improvements are practical, achievable and embedded into everyday operations.
