Company Overview: Our client is a well-established manufacturer and supplier of construction products, operating across the UK, Europe, and America. With a strong reputation for quality, reliability and long‑term client relationships, the company continues to grow its international footprint and is seeking an experienced Import & Export Manager to support and optimise global logistics operations.
Role Overview: The Import & Export Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating international and domestic shipments via air and road freight, ensuring efficient, compliant and cost‑effective movement of goods. This role plays a key part in maintaining smooth supply‑chain operations across multiple regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end‑to‑end import and export operations for air and road freight
- Coordinate shipments across the UK, EU and Americas
- Ensure full compliance with customs regulations, Incoterms and international trade laws
- Prepare, review and manage all shipping and customs documentation
- Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers and internal stakeholders
- Monitor delivery schedules, resolving delays or issues proactively
- Negotiate rates and service agreements with logistics providers
- Maintain accurate shipment records and reporting
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce logistics costs
- Support continuous improvement within the supply‑chain function
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience in an Import/Export environment
- Strong knowledge of air and road freight operations
- Solid understanding of customs procedures, documentation and international trade compliance
- Experience managing shipments across multiple international regions
- Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Proficient in logistics systems and Microsoft Office
Desirable:
- Experience within manufacturing or construction related environment
- Knowledge of EU and US customs processes
