Warehouse and Distribution Supervisor
to join a well-established and reputable company based in Christchurch. A valid 7.5 tonne (Category C1) driving licence is essential for this role , as the successful candidate will also be required to carry out deliveries when necessary. This is a newly created role, reporting directly to the Warehouse and Distribution Manager. The successful candidate will play an important part in the day-to-day running of the warehouse and transport operation, supporting both warehouse activities and the coordination of daily deliveries. Please note, the successful candidate must be flexible to
work Saturdays when required to cover sickness or holidays
and be prepared to carry out deliveries when necessary. What will you be doing?
Working across both the
warehouse and freezer environment
on a daily basis
Offloading supplier deliveries using a forklift or reach truck
Accurately checking incoming goods and processing them on the computer system
Carrying out stock checks when required
Replenishing picking bays as necessary
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised warehouse
Checking driver returns against relevant paperwork
Sorting returned stock, including
frozen, chilled and ambient goods , and preparing it for shipment to Evesham
Processing
DVNs and uplifts
on a daily basis
Carrying out daily vehicle inspections, checking for damage, cleanliness, box lights and general condition
Completing all relevant vehicle inspection paperwork
Routing vehicles using the company computer system
Liaising with drivers each afternoon regarding the following day's deliveries
Supporting the Warehouse and Distribution Manager with the smooth day-to-day running of the operation
Carrying out any other reasonable duties associated with the Warehouse and Distribution Supervisor role
What do we need from you?
Valid
7.5 tonne (Category C1) driving licence
Willingness and ability to carry out deliveries when required
Flexibility to work occasional Saturdays to cover holidays and sickness
Previous warehouse, distribution or transport experience
Previous supervisory or team-leading experience would be highly beneficial
Confident using computer systems and completing paperwork accurately
Good organisational and communication skills
Reliable, practical and hands-on approach
Comfortable working in
chilled and freezer environments
Good attention to detail
Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively
Forklift or reach truck experience would be beneficial, although
full training will be provided
