International transport company based in Felixstowe with a European HQ are seeking an experience Transport Planner to join our dynamic team in Felixstowe.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and dispatching trucks to ensure timely and efficient delivery operations. The Transport Planner will work closely with drivers, customers, and the operations team to ensure smooth operations, effective route planning, and adherence to company safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
· Plan, schedule, and dispatch trucks for pickups and deliveries based on customer needs, route efficiency, and vehicle availability.
· Coordinate with drivers to ensure timely departures and arrivals.
· Maintain accurate records of deliveries, routes, and schedules in the system.
· Monitor real-time traffic conditions and adjust routes accordingly to optimize delivery times and minimize delays.
· Communicate regularly with drivers to provide updates, address issues, and provide support.
· Handle customer inquiries related to delivery status, delays, and other concerns.
Qualifications:
· Proven experience in a dispatching or truck planning role (at least 2 years preferred).
· Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
· Strong communication and organizational skills.
· Proficient in dispatching software
· Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
· Problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly in high-pressure situations.
