We are looking for an experiencedCommercial Managerto join an established container transport operation in Felixstowe.
This is a customer-facing role for someone who understands the container transport market and can develop existing relationships while creating new commercial opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow existing customer accounts.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
- Develop relationships with freight forwarders, shipping lines and importers.
- Prepare quotations, rate reviews and commercial proposals.
- Attend customer meetings and industry events.
- Work closely with Operations to ensure commercially viable solutions.
- Monitor customer volumes, rates and account performance.
- Support tenders and larger commercial opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to introduce additional services
What Were Looking For
- Strong knowledge ofcontainer transport and the Felixstowe market.
- Existing industry relationships and contacts would be advantageous.
- Proven commercial, sales or account management experience.
- Confident developing new business as well as managing existing customers.
- Commercially aware with a good understanding of transport pricing and margins.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated and comfortable generating your own opportunities.
- Able to build long-term customer relationships rather than simply chase short-term sales.
