The predicted salary is between 40000 - 50000 £ per year.

Due to continued growth and an increase in available contracts, we are very pleased to be resourcing a Quantity Surveyor for TLI Group’s Power Transmission & Distribution division in Northern Ireland. This role will be primarily based in our Clonmore Office outside Dungannon, County Tyrone. Please note that occasional travel within Northern Ireland will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Commercial Manager, responsible for commercial functions on relevant projects.
  • Adhere to any reasonable work instructions given either verbally or electronically by the TLI Group management team or representatives of the Client.
  • Assisting in the development of the TLI Group business plan and high-level strategy, monitoring progress against forecast and producing weekly profit and loss reports.

  • Work with the Operation Directors / Operations Manager / Commercial Manager to ensure that projects spend costs are in accordance with the tender prices submitted and that change management processes capture changes and are embedded and enforced on all projects.
  • Ensure that all Commercial tasks are dealt with in a timely, well-presented and accurate manner in line with company commercial systems and procedures.
  • Have a flexible approach to working hours to encourage contact from clients and employees within reason.
  • To ensure that all TLI Group employees and sub-contractors under your remit are professional and courteous in their dealings with each other, the clients and members of the public.
  • To follow all HR processes carefully and thoughtfully, and to engage with HR when required to ensure that employees are treated fairly and positively in all aspects of their work.
  • Strictly adhere to all Health and Safety procedures and ensure that the working environment is practical for both yourself and others.
  • Assume responsibility for the property, materials, tools and equipment of TLI Group, TLI clients or members of the public affected by the installations, and ensure that employees are suitably trained in this regard.
  • Attend relevant training courses and briefings as and when requested.
  • Attend other reasonable work-related duties as requested by the TLI Group Management team.
  • Acceptance to mentoring and training approach to work with your colleagues to learn & improve work outputs.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent QS qualification.
  • 5 years’ experience in commercial Management & Contract Administration.
  • Commercially astute.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office (in particular MS Excel).
  • Commercial Stakeholder Management both Client & Subcontractor.
  • Excellent communication, reporting and presentation skills.
  • A full clean driver’s license and be free to travel as required across NI.
  • Initiative, self-motivation, loyalty and a strong work ethic.
  • A team player who will bring value and energy to the company and be rewarded in return.

It is desirable but not essential that the candidate would have:

  • A working knowledge of Smartsheet’s, Microsoft Project, Workforce.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and meet personal targets within a fluctuating and demanding workload.
