We are recruiting on behalf of a highly reputable electrical contractor with more than 45 years of successful trading and an excellent reputation within the Building Services sector. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint an Electrical Project Manager to take responsibility for the delivery of a commercial fit-out project in Hertfordshire around £2.6million electrical value.

This is a particularly good opportunity for either an established Electrical Project Manager or an ambitious Electrical Site Manager / Electrical Supervisor who is ready to make the step into Project Management. The business has a strong track record of developing people internally and can offer long-term career progression alongside a secured pipeline of future projects.

The Role

As Electrical Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and successful delivery of the electrical package, working closely with the Contracts Manager and wider project team. You will be involved across the project lifecycle, coordinating labour and subcontractors, managing programme and procurement, dealing with technical information and maintaining strong relationships with the client and other project stakeholders.

For someone stepping up from a Site Manager or Supervisor position, you will have the support of an experienced senior management team while developing your commercial, technical and project management experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the electrical package on a commercial fit-out project
  • Coordinate electrical site teams, subcontractors and specialist suppliers
  • Manage project programme and short-term lookaheads
  • Monitor progress and ensure key project milestones are achieved
  • Manage procurement of materials and specialist packages
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications and technical information
  • Manage technical submissions and RFIs
  • Coordinate electrical installations with mechanical and other trades
  • Attend client, consultant and subcontractor meetings
  • Liaise closely with the commercial team regarding variations and project costs
  • Ensure electrical works are delivered safely, on programme and to specification
  • Manage quality assurance, snagging and defect resolution
  • Coordinate testing and commissioning activities
  • Drive the project through to successful handover

About You

We are open to speaking with candidates at different stages of their management career. You may already be working as an Electrical Project Manager, or you could be an experienced Electrical Site Manager or Electrical Supervisor who has successfully delivered commercial projects and feels ready to take the next step. The most important thing is having a strong technical understanding of electrical building services, the ability to manage people and a genuine desire to progress into Project Management.

  • Strong technical understanding of electrical installations
