A leading building services contractor is seeking an experienced Lead M&E Commissioning Manager to take ownership of commissioning strategy and delivery across a portfolio of projects ranging from 1 million to 15 million in value. This is a senior, technically driven role responsible for ensuring mechanical and electrical systems are commissioned safely, efficiently and to the highest performance standards. You will work across complex commercial, healthcare, education and specialist facilities, leading commissioning teams from early design input through to final handover.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead the commissioning strategy across multiple projects (1m-15m)
  • Develop and manage commissioning programmes aligned with construction delivery
  • Oversee mechanical and electrical commissioning activities on site
  • Manage and coordinate commissioning engineers, specialists and subcontractors
  • Review technical submissions, commissioning plans and method statements
  • Ensure compliance with specifications, industry standards and client requirements
  • Chair commissioning meetings and report progress to senior project teams
  • Identify and manage commissioning risks, ensuring timely resolution
  • Support witnessing, testing, validation and performance verification
  • Lead system demonstrations, client training and handover processes
  • Drive quality assurance and best practice across commissioning activities

Experience & Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior M&E Commissioning Manager role
  • Strong technical background in both mechanical and electrical building services
  • Experience delivering commissioning on complex projects within the 1m-15m range
  • Knowledge of BMS, controls, HVAC systems, power distribution and specialist systems
  • Ability to develop commissioning strategies and programmes
  • Strong understanding of QA processes and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent coordination, leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to engage confidently with clients, consultants and specialist engineers
