We are currently working with a well-established £80m turnover M&E contractor looking to appoint an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major commercial fit-out project in Central London. The initial project is a £10m commercial fit-out scheme, currently in pre-construction and due to commence on site in November. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the mechanical package from the pre-construction phase through site delivery, commissioning and final handover.

The Role

As Senior Mechanical Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the mechanical package, working closely with the client, consultants, commercial team, design team and site management. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Taking overall responsibility for the mechanical package from pre-construction through to completion
  • Managing design development, procurement and programme
  • Overseeing mechanical subcontractors and site teams
  • Ensuring works are delivered in line with programme, budget and quality requirements
  • Managing client and consultant relationships
  • Working closely with the commercial team on costs, variations and procurement
  • Chairing and attending project, design and progress meetings
  • Managing commissioning, testing and handover
  • Ensuring all works are delivered in accordance with health & safety requirements
  • Identifying and managing project risks throughout the delivery process

Candidate Requirements

  • Relevant mechanical/building services qualification
  • SMSTS
  • Proven experience delivering mechanical projects/packages valued at £5m+
  • Experience managing projects from pre-construction through to handover
  • Commercial fit-out experience is highly desirable
  • Strong technical understanding of mechanical building services
  • Excellent client-facing and communication skills
  • Ability to manage subcontractors, engineers and site teams
  • Strong commercial and programme awareness
