Our client, a leading Tier 1 M&E contractor, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join their expanding pre-construction team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking business working across commercial, aviation, and data centre projects - delivering some of the most technically complex schemes in the UK and Europe. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and detailed mechanical estimates for tender and design-build projects
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to produce comprehensive cost plans
- Liaise with design, procurement, and construction teams to ensure estimates reflect technical and commercial requirements
- Obtain and review supplier and subcontractor quotations to support pricing strategies
- Identify value engineering options and contribute to cost-saving initiatives
- Support bid presentations and client tender meetings where required
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of market trends, costs, and mechanical installation methods
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the M&E contracting sector
- Experience working on commercial, aviation, or data centre projects
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, public health, and mechanical building services systems
- Proficient in estimation and take-off software as well as Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Based within a commutable distance to London with flexibility for hybrid working
