Salary: £85,000 - £105,000 + £7,000 Car Allowance + Travel

We are currently working with a Tier 1 Main Contractor looking to appoint an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a major hyperscale data centre project in London. The project is currently in pre-construction, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to become involved at an early stage and play a key role in the commercial management of the M&E package through procurement, construction and final account. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading contractor with a strong pipeline of major data centre and mission-critical projects.

The Role

  • Commercial management of major mechanical and electrical packages
  • Supporting the project during the pre-construction and procurement stages
  • Tender analysis, subcontractor procurement and contract negotiation
  • Preparation and management of budgets, forecasts and cost reports
  • Managing subcontractor applications, payments and variations
  • Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
  • Change control and valuation of variations
  • Working closely with the M&E, project and commercial management teams
  • Preparation and agreement of final accounts
  • Ensuring strong commercial governance throughout the project lifecycle

Candidate Requirements

  • HNC, HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying
  • Minimum 5 years' Quantity Surveying experience
  • Strong experience managing M&E packages on major construction projects
  • Good understanding of subcontract procurement, cost management and contract administration
  • Experience working for a main contractor or major M&E contractor
  • Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Previous experience working on data centres, mission-critical facilities or other technically complex projects would be highly advantageous.
