We are working with a leading Tier 1 principal contractor to recruit an experienced MEP Project Manager / Technical Services Manager for a flagship commercial fit-out project in Central London. This is a senior project role with responsibility for the complete MEP delivery, taking the building services from pre-construction and design development through installation, commissioning and final handover.

We're interested in speaking with established Technical Services Managers, but we're also open to experienced MEP Project Managers or Building Services Managers who are ready to make the move into a Tier 1 principal contractor environment. You'll work directly with the Project Director and take ownership of the MEP strategy and delivery across the project.

The Role

  • You'll act as the lead for Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health services, coordinating the specialist MEP contractors and ensuring the services integrate with the wider construction programme.
  • The position combines technical management with hands-on project delivery and will include:
    • Full MEP responsibility from pre-construction through to handover
    • Managing specialist Mechanical and Electrical subcontractors
    • Leading design development and technical coordination
    • Managing technical submissions, RFIs and design issues
    • Driving value engineering and buildability reviews
    • Managing MEP procurement and long-lead equipment
    • Developing and monitoring the MEP programme
    • Coordinating services with architectural and structural packages
    • Leading MEP progress and coordination meetings
    • Managing client, consultant and design team relationships
    • Overseeing quality, testing and commissioning
    • Driving snagging, O&Ms and final handover

You'll need strong experience delivering major commercial building services projects and be comfortable managing both the technical and operational sides of MEP delivery. Commercial fit-out experience would be particularly attractive. We're open to candidates from both principal contractor and major MEP contractor backgrounds, providing you have the experience and capability to manage the complete MEP function.
