The Role
We’re now in our second year of selling the tldraw SDK and we’re growing fast. We’ve learned a great deal from our customers (companies like Observable, Autodesk, ClickUp, and Shopify) and one topic is coming up more and more – the request for technical guidance to accelerate their tldraw implementation. And that’s hardly surprising: tldraw exists to solve a hugely complex problem, providing the foundations for building collaborative infinite canvas applications, taking on the gnarly details so our customer can focus on their own innovative product. Many clients are happy implementing the SDK armed with our excellent documentation, but as our client base grows more broad, an increasing number are asking us to reassure them that they’re setting off in the right direction. You will be providing that reassurance.
Working as part of the GTM team and directly with our wide range of enterprise customers – from rapid-growth startups to established businesses – you’ll be responsible for ensuring they begin their tldraw build in the best possible way. This will be focused on the implementation phase right after signature, but will begin just before, to ensure a smooth transition to the production build phase. As an engineer, you will of course have a very close relationship with tldraw’s engineering and product team, initially learning from them and ultimately exchanging ideas to continually improve both our service delivery but also the product itself.
The Person
You’ve been a software engineer for a number of years, the most recent of which have been working directly with customers. You’re most motivated by solving problems and helping others succeed with technology, but also have an eye on developing into a more strategic contributor in the future. The agile and often unresolved processes of a young business don’t daunt you – rather, they are exciting to you, as your naturally strong organisation skills combine well with your appetite to get things done with minimal direction. And of course, you’re a team-player, keen to learn from and support others in the team. At the heart of your motivation is a simple desire to help developers build awesome things with great tools. You have a truly customer-centric (and developer-centric) approach to implementation and empathize with the challenges our users face, allowing you to proactively propose solutions or workarounds to unblock them.
tldraw’s SDK can be used in an enormous variety of applications, which means no two integrations are the same. You thrive on digging into our tech, rapidly learning how it can fit — or not! — a customer’s needs, and connecting the dots to make each integration a success.
Responsibilities
- Work as a key part of the GTM team, reporting to Head of GTM, focused on supporting customers plan and begin their tldraw SDK implementation.
- Own the post-sale implementation process, defining how we onboard customers and leading them through successful integrations.
- Project manage these integrations in an efficient and repeatable way, setting the team up to scale when the time is right.
- Partner with the pre-sales team to provide technical input pre-signature, helping shape implementation scoping and timelines, ensuring smooth handover to the implementation phase.
- Develop and continuously improve technical onboarding materials, from integration guides and sample code to best practices, to ensure our developer users get their tldraw project off the ground swiftly and smoothly.
