Your Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Expert Engineer, you design, develop, and validate the embedded software and firmware that drives Powervamp’s GSE product range. You work across the full development cycle — from architectural design through hands‑on testing to production deployment — in close collaboration with hardware designers and a multidisciplinary engineering team. Your mission: deliver robust, reliable, and well‑documented embedded systems that meet the demanding performance and safety requirements of the aviation ground support environment.

  • Design, develop, and validate firmware: code, test, and debug system software and firmware in embedded systems; troubleshoot hardware/software interactions from signal level to system behaviour to ensure correct and robust operation in the field.
  • Drive software architecture: participate in architectural design decisions and contribute to technical specifications and design reviews that define how our products behave on the ramp.
  • Optimise and maintain code quality: analyse and refactor new and existing codebases for performance, reliability, and maintainability; apply structured code management and peer review workflows using version control tools.
  • Perform hands‑on testing and debugging: validate embedded systems with industry‑standard instruments including oscilloscopes and logic analysers; ensure your code meets functional and reliability requirements before it reaches a live airport environment.
  • Support hardware development: assist with PCB layout, design, and validation; contribute to Electrical CAD drawings including cable harness drawings; participate in electronic component selection and validation — bridging firmware and the hardware it runs on.
  • Accelerate new product introduction: support the transition from prototype to production; maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation for code and system architecture to enable seamless handover and long‑term maintainability.
