The Learning Centre (TLC) is dedicated to providing high-quality, personalised tutoring to help students thrive academically and build lasting confidence. Offering expert tuition in English, Maths, 11 Plus preparation, and GCSE subjects, we support students both face-to-face and online. Our programs cater to Key Stage 1 & 2 students, helping prepare them for Grammar School entrance exams, including GL and CEM formats. Many of our students have successfully secured places in prestigious schools such as Sutton Coldfield Grammar, King Edward VI Grammar Schools, Bishop Vesey’s, and Queen Mary’s High School.

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Tutor based at our centre in Royal Sutton Coldfield. The Tutor will oversee the delivery of personalised lessons, providing instruction in English, Maths, 11 Plus preparation, or GCSE subjects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons
  • Supporting students in achieving their academic goals
  • Providing constructive feedback
  • Tracking student progress
  • Working collaboratively with other educators
  • Communicating regularly with parents regarding their child’s progress

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in teaching core subjects such as English, Maths, 11 Plus preparation, and/or GCSE topics
  • Ability to create and deliver personalised lesson plans and adapt teaching methods to suit individual student needs
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and team members
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills for maintaining records and tracking student progress
  • Experience in working with Key Stage 1 & 2 and/or preparing students for Grammar School entrance exams is highly advantageous
  • A relevant degree or teaching qualification is preferred
  • Passion for education and a commitment to helping students reach their full potential
