TLC Care are looking for an experienced Casual Chef to support the Head Chef in delivering a first-class food service within our care home. At TLC Care, our focus is quality of life. The Role

As a Casual Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in organising and controlling the efficient production of seasonal and sustainable meals of the highest quality, while maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene in line with Environmental Health regulations. Food preparation will be expected to be of a very high standard and will include:

  • Preparing, cooking, and serving hot and cold meals as required.
  • Catering for special dietary requirements.
  • Taking into account the preferences and nutritional needs of individual residents.
  • Supporting the kitchen team to maintain high standards of food safety and presentation.

This is a casual, bank position, offering flexible shifts to cover periods of increased demand, annual leave, and staff absence.

Requirements

The successful applicant will have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • City & Guilds Level 1 & 2, or equivalent (achieved or working towards)
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Good communication skills
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Experience preparing a variety of dishes, including Kosher, Vegan, and Halal meals
