Reporting to the Senior Project Manager within the European Project Engineering team, the Project Manager is responsible for the planning and delivery of engineering projects, within budget and on time.
ASR Group is the world’s largest refiner and marketer of cane sugar, with an annual production capacity of more than 6 million tons of sugar. The company produces a full line of grocery, industrial, food service and specialty sweetener products. Across North America, ASR Group owns and operates six sugar refineries, located in Louisiana, New York, California, Maryland, Canada and Mexico. In Europe, the company owns and operates sugar refineries in England and Portugal. ASR Group also owns and operates mills in Mexico and Belize. The company’s brand portfolio includes the leading brands Domino, C&H, Redpath, Tate & Lyle, Lyles, Whitworths and Sidul.
Responsibilities
- Work with local site management, internal stakeholders and external consultants to develop project scope, budget and delivery schedules.
- Prepare justifications, drawings, and scopes of work and conduct bid walks. This includes all relevant documents for a stage gate process approval.
- Lead and manage projects from start to finish including construction management, project cost control, cash-flow forecasts, schedules, training, project co-ordination and post-completion reviews.
- Establish the relevant Project Team, facilitating and documenting project team meetings.
- Communicate with all key stakeholders to discuss project specifications and procedures.
- Provide regular project status updates and complete the required reporting/information provision to key stakeholders as required.
- Keep current in discipline, assess new technologies and ideas, develop, evaluate, and seek approval for new concepts or equipment to improve efficiency capability.
- Ensure liaison with central procurement from the onset to completion on all investigations and projects.
- Ensure effective interface with engineering, operations, suppliers, customers, and OEMs, as well as cross-functional internal teams.
- Carry out any other additional duties as required within the reasonable scope of the Project department.
Essential Work Experiences
- Strong project management experience in manufacturing/production environments, with a proven ability in terms of timely project delivery, cost control and stakeholder management.
- Experience on Packaging Projects, preferably at Food Industry, going from single equipment installation to full line design, installation and commissioning.
Essential Education Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or related discipline (BSME/BSEE/BSChE degree) or equivalent.
- PMP Professional Certification - preferable.
