OVERVIEW
Work with the Engineering Manager to optimise plant performance and maintenance activities by managing a team of Maintenance Technicians and contract staff within our Refinery engineering team.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure compliance with all SHEQ policies and procedures by the team and contractors
- Manage Maintenance Technicians, ensuring safety, quality, and throughput targets are met
- Coordinate with Process Team Managers and senior engineers for prioritising activities
- Plan, schedule, and agree on workloads with the Engineering Manager, including preventative, planned, and reactive maintenance
- Oversee all maintenance activities, optimise resources, and ensure high-quality repairs
- Communicate regularly with the team through meetings and briefings
- Initiate and deliver continuous improvement projects to enhance plant reliability
- Provide cost estimates and manage budgets for improvement projects
- Participate in RCM and RCA studies to optimise maintenance regimes
- Administer SAP maintenance system for budgeting and analysis
- Implement maintenance procedures, standards, risk assessments, and SHEQ systems
ESSENTIAL WORK EXPERIENCES
- Relevant maintenance experience in a process environment
- Multi-skilled in various engineering trades
- Experience with predictive and preventative maintenance techniques
- Leadership and performance management of small teams
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental procedures
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- HNC/NVQ 4 in engineering or equivalent preferred
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Ability to plan and coordinate activities effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Organisational and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated with a desire for continuous development
