About the Role
Are you an experienced residential childcare professional looking for the next step in your career? We are seeking a passionate and motivated Residential Deputy Manager to support the leadership of our children's homes, providing high-quality care and positive outcomes for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), trauma, SEN, and complex needs. Working closely with the Home Manager, you will help lead and develop the staff team, maintain high standards of care and compliance, and create a safe, nurturing environment where young people can thrive. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a pathway to a Registered Manager position within a supportive and growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Home Manager in the day-to-day running of the home
- Lead, supervise and develop residential care staff
- Conduct staff supervisions, appraisals and training support
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, Ofsted and regulatory requirements
- Assist with recruitment, rota management and workforce planning
- Complete audits, quality assurance checks and reporting
- Promote therapeutic approaches, including the PACE model
- Build positive relationships with young people, families and external professionals
- Lead by example and provide high-quality direct care when required
- Act as Deputy in the absence of the Home Manager
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience within children's residential care
- Previous leadership, senior support worker or deputy manager experience
- Experience supporting young people with EBD, trauma or SEN
- Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Health & Social Care (essential)
- Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification or willingness to work towards it
- Strong safeguarding knowledge
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence
