Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering work packages and oversee the delivery of technical outputs to agreed time, cost, and quality.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage engineering design activities across the full lifecycle - from concept through to test, acceptance, and delivery.
  • Apply system engineering principles and project management methodologies to ensure technical integrity and compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, customers, and external stakeholders.
  • Report on project performance, including schedule, cost, quality, and risk management.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in engineering delivery.
  • Develop engineering technical solutions, cost estimates, risk assessments, and project programmes for upcoming bids and contracts.
  • Support the development of design and technical procurement specifications.
  • Ensure design processes are documented and verification of system requirements is demonstrated.

What You'll Bring

  • Degree or HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - including technical report writing, bid preparation, and presentations.
  • Specialist knowledge of electrical and electronic systems.
  • Experience with CE/UKCA directives, EMC, and electrical safety standards.
  • Proven ability to implement engineering lifecycles and system engineering processes within product development.
  • Experience leading engineering design teams and supporting through test and acceptance phases.
  • Understanding of project management principles and commercial processes (estimation, costing, pricing, tenders, and bids).
  • Technical management experience as a supplier/integrator.
