With more than 1,200 students, including a thriving sixth‑form, the school offers a broad and engaging curriculum supported by modern facilities and dedicated colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and evaluate high‑impact specialist interventions, including handwriting, communication and SALC programmes, to support students’ academic and physical development.
- Utilise specialist skills and experience to support students with complex learning, behavioural, or emotional needs, adapting learning materials to ensure accessibility.
- Conduct and analyse diagnostic screeners for students, such as dyslexia and Speech, Language, and Communication (SALC) screenings, to identify barriers to learning and inform targeted support plans.
- Collaborate with subject teachers to contribute to the planning of lessons, preparing resources that meet the diverse needs of secondary school students.
- Monitor student responses to learning activities and accurately record achievement and progress using the school’s tracking systems.
- Actively contribute to the Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) Annual Review (AR) process by compiling student progress data, preparing comprehensive reports, and attending review meetings as a key representative of the Inclusion team.
Qualifications
- HLTA status (or a recognised equivalent Level 4 qualification).
- Significant experience working as a TA within a UK secondary school setting.
- Experience of leading whole classes or large groups independently.
- Experience working with students with SEND (e.g. Autism, ADHD, SEMH).
