The Role of the HLTA (ADHD Specialist):
- Act as the Inclusion team’s lead practitioner for ADHD, designing and implementing strategies that target executive functioning deficits (e.g., organization, time management, and focus) to help students navigate the secondary curriculum.
- Lead and facilitate physical Sensory Circuits and targeted ADHD intervention sessions to support students with sensory processing needs and hyperactive behaviours, enabling them to regulate and prepare for learning.
- Plan and deliver specialist Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) interventions to support vulnerable students in developing emotional regulation, resilience, and positive peer relationships.
- Provide high‑quality, proactive in‑class support within mainstream lessons, utilising a deep understanding of student profiles to differentiate tasks, keep students on track, and foster independent learning.
- Utilise specialist skills and experience to support students with complex learning, behavioural, or emotional needs, adapting learning materials to ensure accessibility.
What We’re Looking For:
- HLTA Status or a recognised equivalent Level 4 qualification
- Significant experience working as a TA within a UK secondary school setting
- Experience working with students with SEND (e.g., Autism, ADHD, SEMH)
