Location: London Gatwick Airport. This is a 24/7/365 operation, so the role is a shift pattern (6pm–6am) on a 4on/4off basis.
Overview
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Escalator Engineer to join our new team at London Gatwick Airport, who will be responsible for servicing and maintaining our clients\’ escalators across the airport.
What we expect
- Servicing and maintaining customer escalators
- Repairing or replacing parts as needed
- Responding to mechanical failures and breakdowns
- Carrying out safety checks and risk assessments
- Planning and managing workload around assigned jobs
- Maintaining van stock and ordering supplies through our supply chain
- Recommending parts and equipment that need to be quoted or ordered to keep the lifts compliant
Who we are looking for
- NVQ3 in Escalator Engineering or Equivalent qualifications
- Hold a full UK Driving License
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to use your initiative and work well with others
- Positive attitude and receptive to change
- Extremely organised
- Superior customer-care skills
- The ability to self-assess and take ownership of personal development
