We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Lift Modernisation Trainee to join our London & South division based in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous lift industry experience, particularly within modernisation, who is looking to further develop their skills and work towards an NVQ qualification while building a long-term career in lift engineering.

Working alongside experienced Modernisation Engineers, you will gain hands‑on experience delivering lift modernisation projects across the region, while receiving the support and training needed to progress towards becoming a qualified Lift Modernisation Engineer.

As a Lift Modernisation Improver, your day-to-day will include

  • Assisting with lift modernisation and upgrade projects on a variety of lift equipment
  • Supporting the installation, repair, and replacement of lift components
  • Working alongside qualified engineers to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently
  • Carrying out safety checks and adhering to health and safety procedures at all times
  • Learning how to diagnose faults and resolve technical issues
  • Planning and managing workload around assigned jobs with support from your supervisor
  • Maintaining stock levels and ordering materials through our supply chain processes
  • Attending training and working towards achieving your NVQ qualification

Who We Are Looking For

  • At least 2 years' experience within the lift industry, ideally with exposure to lift modernisation works
  • EOR202 qualification
  • A desire to develop technical skills and work towards achieving an NVQ in Lift Engineering
  • Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel throughout the region
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and embrace new challenges
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety
  • Ability to take ownership of personal development and continuous learning
