Production Manager Job Duties;
- To be the business lead on all matters concerning the production
- To manage the Departments Training Plans and to ensure all employees are multi skilled across the various Production activities, maintaining Competency Matrix, Individual training plans and Appraisals
- To actively lead the Production Team Leaders by means of coaching, mentoring and guidance
- To regularly liaise with other managers ensuring Production Schedules are delivered to the Production Lines to carry out the appropriate builds
- Maintain positive working relations with key stakeholders within the business
- Estimate costs and prepare budgets in line with Operational objectives
- Ensure production is carried out within the timeframes set to meet loading deadlines and ultimately the successful dispatch to the customers
- To ensure product quality is maintained in line with the businesses Quality Management systems
- In conjunction with the Production Team Leaders ensure adequate resources (workforce, raw materials etc.) are in place to meet daily targets
- To liaise with Stock control to ensure stock levels are sufficient to achieve build program
- Oversee regular stock checks, identifying potential shortfalls
- Support the implementation of engineering changes, production trials, model change and pilot builds
- To manage the Production teams time, attendance and bonus scheme
- To accurately collate the Departments statistical data for analysis and review
- Daily, weekly, monthly reporting of departments KPIs, providing regular reports for performance, safety and training outcomes to senior management
- In conjunction with the other operations mangers, oversee the cleanliness of the yard
- To Manage all Human Resource and Employee relations requirements of the Production department
Production Manager Person Specification;
- Previous management experience is essential
- To be able to demonstrate coaching, mentoring and employee relations skills
- Proficient in MS Office and ERP software. (SAP)
