T&K Associates are currently recruiting on behalf of our Client in Ashby-de-la-Zouch for an Assembly Team Leader to join their friendly team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a thriving business where you can make a real impact as part of a supportive and high-performing team. We are looking for a hands-on and driven Assembly Team Leader to support the launch and ongoing delivery of a major new wiring and electro-mechanical assembly project within the company.
Job Details & Benefits:
- Monday to Friday 6am-2pm or 8am-4pm
- £31,200 per annum starting salary
- Office based role
- 28 days holiday to start including bank holidays, increasing with length of service to a maximum of 33 days including bank holidays and the option to purchase additional days

Job Details:
- Lead and support the day-to-day running of the wiring team.
- Help build and develop a positive, organised and high performing production environment.
- Co-ordinate activities across kitting, mechanical assembly, wire preparation, wiring and loom assembly, final assembly, inspection and testing, packing and despatch.
- Work closely with Wiring Engineering and Operations to improve workflow, build methods and production efficiency.
- Support production directly when required, including hands-on assembly and wiring work.
- Monitor build progress and help remove production blockers quickly.
- Ensure quality standards and workmanship are maintained throughout the process.
- Help establish scalable processes and working standards as the department grows.
- Assist with training and development of operators within the team.
- Maintain high standards of organisation, housekeeping and communication.
- Support continuous improvement activities across the project.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Previous experience leading or supervising within a manufacturing or assembly environment.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Hands-on attitude and willingness to support production activities directly.
- Ability to manage multiple stages of production simultaneously.
- Good problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
- Experience working within fast-paced production environments.
Desirable:
- Experience within cable assembly, wiring, electro-mechanical assembly or electronics manufacturing.
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 knowledge or experience.
- Experience working with production documentation, build packs or ERP systems.
- Understanding of inspection and testing processes.
