The company is looking to hire a mid-weight artworker with relevant packaging experience in food, drinks and/or cosmetics. MAC experience preferred.

As a Creative Artworker, you will be experienced in design, packaging artwork, and working with style guides. You will take ownership of the design and creative implementation process, incorporating guidelines into master artwork/templates to ensure design aspiration works across all pack formats. You will help and support the creation and management of all required master assets and feed into the style guide process where appropriate. You will have a good eye for design and be a good communicator.

Overall Responsibility:

  • Responsible for all design adaption work and be the bridge between approved designs through to first artwork build.
  • Create and adapt packaging master templates/artworks from supplied design assets (style guides, brand guidelines, master templates, front face artworks) and brief supplied.
  • To fully interpret the design direction and how it would work across the range.
  • Complete all design adaptations work closely with the design and artwork teams.
  • Identify key artwork cutters as master artworks and work to ensure the design aspiration can work and be built consistently in artwork.
  • Responsible for reducing queries between design and artwork and being the decision maker on the rollout and implementation of the range.
  • Have excellent brand and design awareness, actively supporting the design and artwork teams to ensure consistent brand rollout.
  • Responsible for the collation of all assets related to design adaptations for release to artwork.
  • Work closely with retouching to ensure the correct images/backgrounds are available and can be used efficiently and effectively across the range.
  • Feed into the design process and advise on any limitations which may impact the integrity of the design.
  • Support the process for locking down colours and building master templates/artworks appropriate to print process.
  • Accountable for checking the files you have created.
  • Attend handover meetings as required and brief teams as necessary in order to aid the smooth transition from design to artwork.
  • Hold range reviews with artwork to check consistency.
  • Support with design and artwork tasks when required.
  • Work closely with members of the production and account management teams to identify efficiencies and process.
  • Set up and monitor brand masters as required.

Job Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of artworker experience
  • 2+ years of design experience
  • Excellent FMCG packaging experience
  • Expert knowledge of packaging artwork and associated printing technologies.
  • Demonstrating an understanding of internal artwork procedures and standards, client artwork expectations, and the demands for executing a high turnover of artworks for a major retailer (thousands of SKU’s per year).
  • Excellent knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of colour separation, file set-up and supply using spot colour channels
  • Demonstration of precision and excellent attention to detail from photography, typography and file set up to follow the client’s guidelines and requirements.
  • Experience of mentoring/line management advantageous.
