Tjarks and Tjarks has 30 years of experience in designing and producing brands that win at the retail shelf. Our clients trust us to lead them through the changing dynamics of the shopper world and to design packaging that ensures their brands are picked first. We deliver our 360 design to artwork philosophy efficiently, faithfully, and accurately, across the globe.
As an Artworker, you will be experienced in design, packaging artwork, and working with style guides. You will take ownership of the design and creative implementation process, incorporating guidelines into master artwork/templates to ensure design aspiration works across all pack formats.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Artwork Lead in implementation of work and maintaining design and technical consistency across projects.
- Interpret the design direction from approved concepts/visuals and how it would work across a range.
- Complete all design adaptations work, working closely with the design and artwork teams.
- Ensure the design aspiration can work and be built consistently in artwork.
- Execute the implementation of master designs across a range.
- Have excellent brand and design awareness, ensuring consistent brand rollout.
- Responsible for the collation of all assets related to design adaptations for release to artwork.
- Work closely with retouching to ensure the correct images/backgrounds are available and can be used efficiently and effectively across the range.
- Feed into the design process and advise on any limitations which may impact the integrity of the design.
- Assist in the process for locking down colours and building master templates/artworks appropriate to print process.
- Accountable for checking the files you have created.
- Hold range reviews with Creative Artwork Lead to check consistency.
- Support with design and artwork tasks when required.
- Execute amends at various stages of artwork, while considering potential knock-on effects to the design intent across a range of work.
- Packaging artwork, ready for pre-press/production.
About you:
- Strong artwork and design experience in a studio environment.
- Excellent FMCG packaging experience.
- Expert knowledge of packaging artwork and associated printing technologies.
- Demonstrating an understanding of internal artwork procedures and standards, client artwork expectations, and the demands for executing a high turnover of artworks for a major retailer.
- Excellent knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Knowledge of colour separation, file set-up and supply using spot colour channels.
- Demonstration of precision and excellent attention to detail from photography, typography and file set up to follow the client’s guidelines and requirements.
- Experience of building artwork from approved design concepts, through to final print ready files.
- Able to adapt a visual idea across different formats and proportions.
