Job Introduction

Are you passionate about creating a safe and secure workplace? Based at our state‑of‑the‑art Omega Distribution Centre, located at Omega Business Park, we are looking for a Security Team Leader to play a key role in maintaining the safety and security of our site for colleagues and visitors. Reporting to the Security Manager, you will lead a team of Security Officers, ensuring high standards of performance, attendance, and compliance across all shifts. In this role, you’ll oversee gatehouse processes, manage access and egress due diligence, and conduct site patrols to maintain operational security. You’ll also play a vital role in fire evacuation procedures as a trained Fire Marshal, ensuring adherence to all security policies, procedures, and processes. As part of the Profit Protection Team, you’ll collaborate with the Leadership Team and third‑party contractors, demonstrating strong leadership to drive best practices, deliver investigations, and develop your team to uphold a secure working environment.

Job Overview

  • Team Leadership: Oversee, manage, and develop a team of Security Officers, ensuring high standards of performance, attendance, and consistency.
  • Access and Egress Management: Ensure thorough due diligence processes are applied to all individuals entering and exiting the site.
  • Operational Oversight: Manage gatehouse processes and conduct searches of colleagues and visitors in line with protocols.
  • Compliance and Confidentiality: Ensure adherence to GDPR, maintaining accurate records and safeguarding sensitive information.
  • Fire Marshal Duties: Support fire evacuations and safety drills as a trained Fire Marshal.
  • Site Patrols and Audits: Conduct regular site patrols, container seal audits, and yard marshal duties.
  • Investigations and Reporting: Organise schedules, conduct investigations, and assist with subject access requests.
  • Collaboration: Attend and present updates at leadership meetings, aligning security strategy with site operations.

Experience in a logistics or distribution centre security role. Team leadership experience is preferable. Familiarity with distribution centre functions is desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory systems. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to organise, prioritise workloads, and maintain confidentiality. Awareness of working in an open‑plan environment.
