We are now recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Shift Manager to join our team at our Liverpool Distribution Centre & Head Office, where you’ll be at the heart of a high-volume, technology-driven operation.
Logistics within retail is fast-paced and demanding, with our Distribution Centre teams playing a vital role in delivering on-time and in-full to our network of Home Bargains stores across the UK. As a Warehouse Shift Manager, you will lead and develop your team of Section Managers to consistently deliver against safety standards, warehouse performance objectives, and operational targets. You will prioritise workload effectively to ensure our stores receive the right products at the right time.
Working closely with the Warehouse Operations Manager, you will contribute to both short-term planning and long-term operational strategy, helping to drive continuous improvement across the site. Job Overview- Leadership & Team Performance: Lead, manage, and inspire a high-performing warehouse team to achieve safety standards, operational targets, and performance goals, balancing cost efficiency with productivity.
- Customer & Operational Delivery: Ensure our stores receive the right products at the right time by prioritising workload and maintaining a strong focus on on-time, in-full delivery.
- Performance Management & KPIs: Set clear objectives and KPIs, regularly reviewing performance and driving continuous improvement across your team.
- People Development & Capability: Develop Section Managers through structured development plans, ensuring your team has the skills and training to meet performance, safety, and quality standards.
- Resource Planning & Workforce Alignment: Align resources to deliver operational plans, ensuring effective workforce planning and recruitment to support business needs.
- Health, Safety & Compliance: Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring full compliance with all H&S processes, procedures, and training requirements through regular monitoring and action.
- Communication, Problem Solving & Collaboration: Engage your team through effective communication, proactively resolve challenges, and collaborate with stakeholders to support planning and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience working in a fast-paced warehouse and distribution environment.
- Proven experience leading and developing managers within a high-volume operation.
- Strong knowledge and experience of warehousing H&S regulations, compliance, and auditing processes.
- Experience working within a unionised environment.
- Proven ability to drive efficiency and continuous improvement across warehouse operations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and people development skills.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making capability.
