We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Analyst Programmer to join our IT Department.

As a key member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering technology solutions that support the continued growth, efficiency and resilience of the business.

This role will lead the development and enhancement of business-critical systems, ensuring they continue to deliver long-term value while supporting an expanding retail operation.

You'll provide technical leadership across a range of development projects, working closely with stakeholders to design scalable, maintainable and commercially aligned solutions that improve operational performance and reduce business risk.

Managing and developing a team of Analyst Programmers and Junior Analyst Programmers, you'll foster a collaborative and high-performing environment, championing best practice throughout the software development lifecycle.

You'll also play a key role in shaping solution architecture, driving continuous improvement and ensuring our technology platforms are well positioned to support future business growth.

• Supporting change management processes through code reviews, testing, quality assurance and controlled software releases.
• Researching emerging technologies and recommending innovative, cost‑effective solutions that enhance business capability and operational efficiency.
• Acting as the technical interface between third‑party suppliers and commercial teams, ensuring external partners remain aligned with business priorities and strategic objectives.
• Significant experience across the full software development lifecycle, with extensive expertise in IBM i (AS/400) platform, and strong proficiency in RPG programming.
• Proven experience leading software development projects and coordinating technical delivery within a complex business environment.
• Experience managing, mentoring and developing technical teams, with the ability to inspire high performance and continuous improvement.
• Strong ERP development and software integration experience, including developing interfaces between core and peripheral systems.
• Experience working within retail and EPOS environments, with knowledge of warehouse and distribution centre software systems.
• Extensive experience investigating, troubleshooting and resolving complex software and application issues.
• Strong solution design and application architecture experience, with the ability to develop scalable, maintainable and commercially focused systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across technical and non‑technical teams.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high‑quality outcomes within agreed timescales.
