  • Salary & Hours
  • £29,744 per annum (plus 19% night shift allowance paid between 10pm - 6am)
  • Average 38.61 hours per week
  • 3 on 3 off - 12 hour shifts
  • Nights (6pm - 6am)
  • Full-time colleagues receive 28 days of annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays), increasing to 33 days after 5 years of service.

Annual leave is pro‑rated for part‑time or alternative working arrangements.

Exciting opportunities await as we recruit Building Maintenance Technicians to join the Engineering and Facilities team at our brand‑new Distribution Centre in Doncaster.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of one of the UK's largest distribution centre developments, joining the site during its construction and commissioning phases before operations begin.

Working alongside our Building Maintenance Engineers, contractors, and automation partners, you'll be involved in bringing the site to life.

From supporting commissioning activities and equipment installation to helping establish maintenance routines and asset management systems, you'll play an important part in ensuring the Distribution Centre is ready for a successful launch.

Following the site's transition into operation, you'll carry out planned preventative maintenance, respond to repair requests, and complete essential maintenance activities across the building and its facilities.

Working closely with Engineers and Operations teams, you'll help minimise downtime, maintain the highest standards of safety and reliability, and contribute to the smooth running of one of the UK's most advanced automated logistics operations.

  • Job Overview
  • Scheduled Maintenance : Complete all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks on time and to high standards using the CMMS.
  • Roll Cage & TKT Repairs: Carry out roll cage and TKT repairs, ensuring equipment is safe, serviceable, and available to support operational requirements.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness on all repaired equipment.

  • General Repairs : Assist Building Maintenance Engineers with general building repairs, including doors, barriers, and walls.
  • Repair Requests : Address repair and work requests for the distribution centre and office facilities promptly to minimize operational downtime.
  • Asset Management : Use and enhance the CMMS by inputting new assets, setting up servicing schedules, and maintaining local sub‑stores.
  • Inventory Control : Ensure all critical spares are accounted for through the inventory control system and perform regular stock checks of maintenance materials, tools, and spares.
  • Safety Compliance : Follow all safe systems of work policies and procedures, especially when working at height or in restricted spaces.
  • Training and Development : Complete all required individual development and health and safety training, maintaining high standards at all times.
  • Issue Escalation : Escalate any issues or problems with planned or unplanned maintenance activities to the Building Maintenance Manager.
  • Previous experience of basic building fabric or equipment maintenance or can demonstrate a good standard of DIY skills.
  • Ability to learn to a wide variety of maintenance and facilities tasks.
  • Team Working.
