We have an exciting opportunity for an Architectural Technician to join our Property team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and detail-oriented individual to support the design and delivery of a wide range of construction projects.

Working closely with key stakeholders across the business, you will be responsible for:

  • Producing accurate and compliant technical drawings.
  • Supporting the Production team with technical expertise.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered in line with current legislation and industry standards.
  • Maintaining drawing quality and supporting planning and building regulation applications.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of our processes and practices.

Job Overview:

  • Producing high-quality 2D and 3D technical drawings using AutoCAD software, interpreting construction requirements and translating concepts into detailed design plans.
  • Creating and amending drawings to ensure compliance with current Building Regulations, planning requirements and environmental standards.
  • Providing technical support to the Production team, including building layouts, structural calculations and guidance on construction materials.
  • Producing dimensioned design proposal drawings, including front elevations, side elevations, frame plans and roof plans.
  • Maintaining accurate and organised CAD files and project documentation to support efficient project delivery.
  • Managing applications for Building Regulations, Planning and other project-related requirements.
  • Working closely with your Line Manager and key stakeholders to provide updates on the progress of new and ongoing projects.
  • Conducting site visits with colleagues as required to support project delivery and ensure designs meet operational requirements.
  • Keeping up to date with developments within the construction industry and ensuring compliance with current legislation and best practice.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of internal systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy across the department.
  • Adhering to all health and safety procedures and undertaking other duties appropriate to the role and within your level of competence.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A minimum of three years' experience using AutoCAD software.
  • Proven design skills, with experience producing comprehensive drawing packages and technical specifications.
  • A strong understanding of current UK Building Regulations and industry standards.
  • Experience producing accurate and detailed drawings, with a keen eye for quality and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work effectively to deadlines and manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and experience maintaining structured filing systems and project documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • A willingness to undertake site visits and support the wider team as required.
